Well...didn't have any technical mishaps getting in to Second Life. Don't like how slow walking is and how disoriented I get flying though, so maneuvering is a challenge for me. (Plus I still get lost in Waukesha even after going to school here for four years, so me in a strange new place is always an adventure). I haven't experimented with any new "clothes" or "hair" yet. I've only gotten out of orientation island and on to help island before I decided to call it a night.

Task Three: Second Life Scavenger Hunt of Topher Pudless (CHris)

The name of my avatar is is Topher Pudless. I so far have pretty much left my avatar the way it was when I started. I have been trying to get familiar will the whole program and how its works. The challenges that i have come to realize is how it is difficult for me to multitask and talk with others and walk around and go in the right direction. I really like second life. It reminds me of the SIMS but with real people.

My name is April Furman. I found that it was very easy to move around. I think that is because I have just been play video games with my boyfriend and so it is a lot like playing a game. I feel that it would be very easy for me to get around in secondlife. I hope every one is have as much fun as I am. See you in class. (maria Valdes)

Task Three: Second Life Scavenger Hunt of Draft Pick (Brian)

My avatar's name is "Draft Pick". It was my original idea to make myself look as close to myself as possible. It quickly turned into a joke, and instead I created a hair metal rocker in a knight's shirt, wielding a "pop gun". My screen shot show's my avatar's prettiness. It seems like this is almost a joke. My first impression is that flying pretty awesome, but this is a video game to me, not a way to meet people. The biggest struggle for me was trying to complete the tutorials. They weren't very intuitive to me...oddly enough.

Task Three: Second Life Scavenger Hunt of Van Byk (Vanessa)

The name of my avatar in SL is Van Byk. I decided to change the color of her hair, and her shirt to differentiate her from the other avatars. I did change her body style but it looked really unrealistic and weird, so I changed it back. My first impression of SL is a little strange. I'm not used to playing games on the internet, especially ones where I am involved in a virtual world. It definately took some getting used to. I had a few challenges, such as, getting used to learning the simple tasks like changing your appearance and teleporting out of orientation island. I tried talking to others around me but they seemed to not know anything either. I was fending for myself. I eventually got the hang of the basics, but I'm still getting used to flying around and being able to interact with almost anything on my screen.
